SASHIKO BORO KIMONO SILK SCARF - Class # 548

Learn about various types of kimono silks as you design and apply sashiko stitches to create a one-of-a-kind boro silk scarf approximately 8" x 36". Assorted vintage kimono silks will be provided from the instructor's collection. Plan on minimal sewing at home to apply a backing and finish the scarf. Trunk Show!

Make a traditional furoshiki (Japanese wrapping cloth) using sashiko stitching techniques—learning different types of stitches and how to transfer a design to fabric. Choose designs from a variety of stencils offered for use in class with additional design templates provided in the kit. Receive instructions for adding a backing and finishing the furoshiki at home. SASHIKO SILK DRAWSTRING BAG - Class # 767

This simple lined silk drawstring bag is used for a variety of occasions in Japan. Transfer the sashiko design to fabric, stitch the design in class, and receive the pattern and instructions for completing the bag at home. Several sashiko designs are included in the kit and an assortment of stencils are available to use in class. Trunk show!
