3066C – Japanese Reversible Knot Bag with Boro Style

Fun and easy to make, the Japanese knot bag is one of the most popular bags in Japan. This handy little bag is worn over your wrist and has a lovely round shape. The bag can be created any size and used as a lunch bag, shopping bag, or to carry your sashiko or knitting supplies. To make it truly your own one-of-a-kind bag, you’ll be adding an assortment of Japanese fabrics to create a boro patchwork.  Finished size approximately 12" x 18.

Materials List – Students:  Scissors for cutting fabric and paper, straight pins, glue stick, small spool of navy colored sewing thread. 

Material Kit: Students will receive the pattern for the bag, main bag fabric, lining, assorted Japanese fabrics, and thread.


6066C – Yazzii Bag Meets Boro & Sashiko
Saturday, January 25, 2020 - From 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Students will receive a Yazzi Craft Bag to embellish with sashiko stitching, Japanese fabric patchwork or both! Learn to transfer a sashiko design from the stencil provided and do basic sashiko stitching. The Yazzi Craft Bag is perfect for carrying your sashiko or other sewing supplies home with you. Trunk show in class.

Material Kit: Students will receive a Yazzi Craft Bag, a selection of various Japanese fabrics, stencil, sashiko thread, needle, and handouts.

Materials List – Students: 

Scissors for fabric and thread cutting, wash out marking pen or pencil, glue stick, and straight pins. Optional: thimble, needle threader that will accommodate thicker threads
