BORO KIMONO SILK SCARF or DECORATIVE ART PIECE -

SATURDAY, September 8 - 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Students will learn about various types of kimono silks and design, and how to apply sashiko stitches to create a one-of-a-kind boro silk scarf approximately 7” x 54” or an 18” x 18” art piece for pillow, wall hanging, wearable art or you decide. Assorted vintage kimono silks will be provided from the instructor’s collection. Minimal sewing at home to add a backing and finish the scarf.
Class Fee $55.00 - includes all materials - an assortment of vintage kimono silks, silk floss, basting thread, foundation fabric and handouts. (Fabrics will vary from those shown in the samples.)
Students need to bring scissors for cutting thread and silk fabric, fine straight pins.
