Shibori Silk Scarf Dye Class with Becky Scellato

Make your own one-of-a-kind silk scarf using ColorHue instant set dyes. You’ll be dyeing a habotai silk scarf as you experiment with ColorHue dyes as well as learning how to achieve an interesting shibori effect with folding, tying, scrunching and wrapping techniques. You’ll be amazed at how easy it is to create a luxurious silk scarf that will WOW your friends and family.
Samples of traditional Japanese shibori dyeing will be shown in class.
Class Fee $45.00 - includes 2 silk scarves for dyeing, handouts, use of dyes and dyeing supplies during class.
Students need to bring fine sharp pointed scissors for cutting thread, sharp needle and strong (12 weight) polyester or cotton thread. Students also need to bring an old apron or old shirt to wear while dyeing and rubber gloves.
