A modern medley of fabrics are assembled to create this slightly over-sized, unique and stunning top, tunic or jacket with a shirtail hem. Two lengths are included, the shorter length falling to mid-hip on the sides, yet curving a bit lower in front and back. The longer option is a true tunic length providing full coverage of the hips, suitable to wear over leggings, jeans or any narrow pant. The sleeve is a modified dolman design, wide at the armhole and narrowing slightly as it falls to bracelet length.
The pattern includes a lengthen/shorten line and instructions for easy alteration to a three quarter or full sleeve length as desired. The front and back feature fabric overlays accentuating the curved
hem. A bias cut neck band and a front placket overlay provide additional details. The pattern is shown constructed of two contrasting batik prints and in recycled jeans that utilize both the right and wrong side of the denim. Instructions are given for deconstructing denim garments.
Both top and tunic are shown with a five button closure down the front placket. They can be worn buttoned up as a singular top or worn open as a light outer garment. The denim jacket sports three over-sized snaps to fasten or wear open. Create with exposed serged edges or traditional enclosed seams. Have fun composing your magnum opus of fabrics, thread colors and buttons, be it subtle or striking.
