This Japanese silk fabric features a faux shibori motif in a traditional wave design called seigaiha.
The dividing bar running through the fabric means it was probably meant to be cut apart for pieces in making a kimino. Each section is about 7 1/2" wide.
Our Japanese silk, silk blend and wool fabrics are vintage fabrics on the bolt or from disassembled kimono. Some of our Japanese silks and wool bolts may have been stored for long time. Minor flaws such as slight discolorations or tiny spots may exists which are typical of older Japanese silk fabrics but they are in otherwise excellent condition. Some items will be suitable for wearables and other more for display or craft purposes.
