This Sashiko 5 piece coaster set comes complete with needle, thimble and thread. The fabric is very dark indigo - almost looks black. The sashiko thread included is 6 strands of loosely plied thread like embroidery floss. Use all 6 stands together - do not separate. It makes the stitching lines plump and beautiful.
Five traditional patterns are pre-printed on sashiko cloth. The pattern lines wash out. Each pattern can be cut into 5" squares and used for coasters, small miniature wall hangings, and other quilting projects. Or, leave them all together for a long runner. Backing fabric not included.
