From Tulip Company of Japan, this pre-printed white colored cotton sampler with wash-out lines features a windmill design with a floral border.

The name of the Netherlands means "low land", and the land below 0m above sea level occupies one quarter of the country's land. In order to escape flooding, windmills were built throughout the country as a pumping facility for spring water. The windmills that remain on the outskirts of Kinderdijk have been declared a World Cultural Heritage Site.  Tulip Co. designed such a windmill and the national flower tulip with the image of the traditional craft "Delft pottery" that has been made since the 17th century in Delft, which is also famous as Vermeer's hometown.

The kit comes complete with thread and a needle so you can get started right away!   Made in Japan with English instructions.  100% cotton.
