This furoshiki is designed by Naomi Itaya, a well-known fabric designer in Japan.
Japanese furoshiki are used for gift wrapping and transporting items while shopping. While these furoshiki are smaller than the larger ones used in Japan for shopping, they are widely used for decorating as small wall hangings, placemats, pillow tops and quilting squares. They're perfect for wrapping several small items together or one larger item like a bottle of sake or wine.
