You will receive a dark navy sampler.  Shown in white for detail only.

Sashiko pre-printed samplers have wash-out stitching lines.  

You will need one card of Daruma thin weight (40m) thread or one card of Daruma medium weight thread (30m).

Do not pre-wash. The fabric measures 12.75" x 12.75" (31 cm x 31 cm) folded in half.  100% cotton fabric.  Instructions are in Japanese with easy-to-follow diagrams.  Needles and thread are not included.

The design is printed on one half of the sampler.  The other half of the sampler has no design.  Use the plain half as the backing for a pillow or other project, draw your own design on the second half or leave plain.

Stitch through both layers for a little heavier fabric if using for a quilt square.  In Japan, the samplers are stitched through both layers, hemmed and use for tea towels or table decorations.
