The Olympus sashiko needle package includes two needles - 1 3/4" and 2 1/2". These needles have a larger eye and are easier to thread than the Clover or Tulip sashiko needles, but they are not as fine. A good beginner's needle.  

The traditional sashiko leather thimble has elastic that allows it to stretch to fit any finger. There are little bumps on the front of the thimble for the needle to rest on as you push it through the fabric. The leather will soften over time with use.
