This is a rare and really beautiful piece of woven Japanese fabric.   

The name Yumahama has been woven into the fabric and the end of the piece.

This cotton woven fabric has a slightly crisp but soft touch.  The fabric will soften and shrink a bit with cool water washing and will age gracefully.   The colors range from blue to dark navy to indigo, which is very dark sometimes almost to the black side.
