A Japanese Tenugui  is a thin cotton cloth that has been used for over 1000 years in Japan.
They can be used as decorative towels, wrappings, or for a variety of sewing projects. They can be framed or hung on a rod as a decoration.
Tenugui are typically about 14" x 35 - 36" inches in size, and plain woven.   This size makes them an excellent fashion accessory to be worn as a scarf or headband and are often used as a headwrap in martial arts
Usually, the long sides are finished with a selvage, while the short sides are left unfinished to allow fraying
