Japanese dobby weave fabrics are produced on a special loom and characterized by small geometric patterns or an extra texture in the cloth such as a slight slub in the fabric that gives the fabric texture and dimension.  These are great for quilting, crafts, or apparel.  Expect a heavier hand than standard broadcloth

Kobayashi and Wagara are fabric companies in Japan that produce high quality fabrics including dobby weave, double gauze, and quilting weight cottons.
