Temari (手まり) is a cherished Japanese craft meaning "hand ball." This folk art has a rich history, originating as toys for children and crafted from the remnants of old kimonos. Over time, Temari evolved into a detailed art form, prized for its beautiful and complex embroidery.

Hand-embroidered Temari balls have a history spanning over 1,000 years in Japan. Once imperial court novelties and later children's toys, they are now cherished as elegant home decorations or hanging ornaments where you can also thread a string through them and use them as hanging ornaments.
