Japanese dobby weave fabrics are produced on a special loom and characterized by small geometric patterns or an extra texture in the cloth such as a slight slub in the fabric that gives the fabric texture and dimension.  These fabrics are great for quilting, crafts, or apparel.  You can expect a heavier hand than standard broadcloth fabric.
