This is a combined weave fabric which means it could be a mix of silk, cotton, rayon, nylon and/or polyester. Our supplier in Japan did not know the exact fiber content.
This fabric is very soft, silky and drapey. You can't see it from the scan but there are hexagons superimposed with peonies on the black background.
Our Japanese silk, silk blend and wool fabrics are vintage fabrics on the bolt or from disassembled kimono. Some of our Japanese silks and wool bolts may have been stored for long time. Minor flaws such as slight discolorations or tiny spots may exists which are typical of older Japanese silk fabrics but they are in otherwise excellent condition. Some items will be suitable for wearables and other more for display or craft purposes.
Fabrics are traditional kimono width - 13" - 14" wide.
